The Potter
This morning, I read the following: "Without the potter, the lump of clay remains just that - a lump." As I read this, I remembered something from a show I recently watched.
The main character had a baseball in his hand and was remembering the words that the former owner of this object shared with him. He had said that a baseball wasn't even called a baseball nor did it have a purpose/meaning until someone took it and put it into motion - threw it - and made it a part of a game. This is the same principle for a dream/vision. It has no meaning - no place in this world - until you set it into motion and give it meaning.
My thoughts: It is the same for us. God created us in order to set us into motion, give us meaning, a purpose. We must move. For us to realize His plans/purpose for us, we need to set things in motion around us to bring these dreams into reality. We cannot sit still and expect our life to change or to find our identity and purpose in this world without taking any steps. As the potter guides and helps form us, we must do the same with the life He has given us. We are the work of God, and because He gave us free will, our lives will bear the result of what we decide to form/shape it into.
"We are the clay, You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand." - Isaiah 64:8
"Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?" - Romans 9:21
